The Houston Hurricanes FC Head Coach Brendan Keyes announced today that the team signed Justus Rodriguez from Kerrville Texas. Keyes said about Rodriguez who lives in San Antonio at the moment, he already has a nick name from the lads “The Kerrville Kid”  You all want a player who makes the kind of commitment like Justus to do well, driving from San Antonio and back for tryouts three times last week shows this kids passion for the game. He still has to show it on the field and he did with some great runs down the flanks and to finish it off with a top quality cross. He has a lot of work to break into the starting line up but he is in the squad.

Rodriguez said this is a dream come true, to play at this level for a coach like Keyes who is a former pro player and the Hurricanes who are a big name team in American Soccer going back to the 70s with former players Bobby Lennox and Peter Welsh. I couldn’t be more excited and can’t wait to get started. I am under no illusions I know it’s not going to be easy to get playing time, I will put my head down and put my best effort to force my way into the 18 players coach picks on game day.
The Hurricanes and Justus Rodriguez don’t have much time before they take on none other than the Houston Dynamo Acy this Sat 18th at the Dynamotraining center. For information on tryouts or any Hurricanes news contact 832 748 1001.
